My Experience at the People's Choice Awards
In January of 2014 I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to attend the People’s Choice Awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, CA as part of an entertainment public relations class I was taking over winter intersession.
Tickets to The People’s Choice Awards are open to the public and can easily be bought on Ticketmaster.
This awards show was definitely the most exciting part of our trip! This particular show was being hosted by Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs from 2 Broke Girls which happens to be one of my favorite shows!
Our seats were originally in row thirty-four but because the show needed seat fillers I was lucky enough to be about five rows back. This meant I was sitting amongst the celebrities such as Sandra Bullock, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Jessica Alba, Melissa McCarthy and so many more.
If you get the opportunity to attend one day, I highly suggest getting there early and paying attention to the security guards working in the first 25 rows. They’ll give the go ahead just before the start of the show for when they need seat fillers. You may be kicked out of or moved from the seats at some point so make sure you keep your original ticket on you in case you need to head back. Luckily, I was never moved throughout the entire show.
I also was sitting in the row ahead of Matthew Moy and Jonathan Kite, who are also from the show 2 Broke Girls and were there supporting Kat and Beth. We made friends with them and were able to chat with them for a while!
During the show I attended, movies such as The Heat, Iron Man 3, and Gravity and television shows such as The Big Bang Theory, Pretty Little Liars, Vampire Diaries and The Walking Dead were up for awards. Actors such as Robert Downey Jr. and Adam Sandler and Actresses such as Lucy Hale, and Bailee Madison were in attendance.
During the commercial breaks, we were allowed to walk around our general area and snap selfies with celebrities (if they agreed). Check out my snaps with Jessica Alba, Cassie Scerbo, Bailee Madison, and Ross Matthews.
